State Agency Support

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SC DNR) founded the Dolphinfish Research Program in 2002.  At the end of the 2005, state funding for the DRP ran out which led to the formation of a private business to continue the program.  Since then, SC DNR has sponsored the acquisition of tags and other materials to help expand participation and research associated with the DRP.

Since 2014, the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environ-mental Resources as well as the Puerto Rico Division of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service Sport Fish Restoration Program has sponsored the acquisition of tags and other materials to help expand participation and research associated with the DRP.

Since 2017, the United States Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources as well as the USVI Division of Fish and Wildlife Service has sponsored the acquisition of tags and other materials to help expand participation and research associated with the DRP.
